The Hispanic Society of University Professors (HSUP®) was conceived on December 2005, at Orlando, Florida, and subsequently founded in 2006 in San Juan, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as a not-for-profit organization by a group of Hispanic educators, business, and institutional leaders. 



HSUP® was created in view of the growing relevance of the Hispanic community in the United States, and their contribution to the general
welfare, social and economic development of the whole country.

Thus, the mission of the Society is to establish a network to unite, promote career advancement, advocate, and divulge the contribution of this community toward the enhancement of higher education.
